During a one-hour appointment at our office, you can get dramatically whiter teeth – perfect for a special event. We apply a bleaching solution which is then light-activated for fast whitening. The procedure is gentle and painless, and your results are immediately visible. You may experience some minor sensitivity, but this should diminish in a few days.

Colgate Take Home-Kit

If you have a little more time and prefer to whiten at home, we offer a take-home kit. We make a mold or impressions of your teeth and design custom trays that only fit your teeth. These trays provide a snug, comfortable seal, holding the prescription bleaching solution just where it belongs. You whiten for an hour each day for about two weeks. You control how white you want your teeth to become. Home whitening causes less sensitivity and lasts longer than in-office treatment.

Spray White 90

Spray is a great new alternative for bleaching your teeth. You can get whiter teeth in just 90 seconds. The solution is hydrogen peroxide, and when applied to the teeth it is broken down into water and oxygen. The oxygen attaches to the stains and penetrates into the teeth removing any stains. There is no sensitivity involved, and it is quick and painless.

Another feature that was discovered is that the oxygen also attaches to bacteria in your mouth that are responsible for decay and gum disease. As a result, it kills the bacteria and prevents cavities.

Spray White is the latest in bleaching technology and is great for the health of your teeth and gums. Stop by and try it, and you will believe it when your see you teeth get whiter right in front of your eyes.

We may decide on a combination approach – first, an in-office procedure. Followed-up by at-home trays to get a bit brighter, or to use every few months to maintain your brilliant shade.

Many patients ask why they should consider professional teeth whitening when so many over-the-counter products are available.

Whitening toothpaste and rinses are a good addition to your daily oral hygiene to help maintain a professional white smile. However, to get those initial results, the solutions used by the dental professionals at Bristol Dental & Orthodontics are prescription strength. You simply cannot get the same whitening with drug store strips. The over the counter strips are one-size-fits-all, rather than custom-fit trays, so the bleaching solution smears on gums and roots causing additional sensitivity and possibly permanent damage to the roots and gums.
